Sales Process
How do I choose the size of my cooling system?
Apex engineers use cooling load calculations which factor in the specifics of each cellar and then adjusts this for your local climate. We then run a separate cooling load for any ductwork for all ducted units as well to ensure that equipment is properly sized.
Is my wine cellar too small or too large for a CellarTec system?
Our design consultants can recommend the right sized system no matter the size. CellarTec split systems accomodate upwards of 5,000 to 7,000 cubic feet. This varies depending on the construction and the wine cellar's relative location within the building.


Installation
How long will the installation process take?
Typical installation ranges from one to three days.
Where does the equipment go?
The condensor unit is installed outside of the wine cellar in a well ventilated location. Ducted units can be placed either inside or outside of your wine cellar. Units placed within your wine cellar fit within our custom cabinets which are built into the racking design.
What electrical / wiring requirements are necessary?
  • Two separate 120 VAC dedicated circuits for the evaporator and controller
  • One 230/1/60 VAC, 20 amp dedicated circuit for the condensor unit.
  • An 8/18 wire from the controller location to the outdoor condenser and fan coil unit (FCU).
  • A 6-wire (flat communication) for the remote mounted control display.

Monitoring
What are the requirements for monitoring service?
  • A dedicated Internet connection (Cable, DSL, T-1, ISDN)
  • Properly configured Local Area Network (LAN)
  • DHCP service (on by default with most home networking routers)
  • CellarTec Smart Control

Warranty
What is covered in the product warranty?
Apex warrants that CellarTec systems will be free from defects in material or workmanship for one year from the date of original installation or fifteen months from date of shipment. If any part is found to be defective within the warranty period, Apex, or its authorized service agent, will replace, or at Apex's discretion, repair the part, provided the defective part is returned to Apex.

How often should I have my CellarTec split system serviced?
We recommend that you schedule an appointment for maintenance and cleaning twice a year to ensure optimal performance.
