Split System Overview
Wine Cellar Cooling
All refrigeration systems consist of three main components; the evaporator, condenser, and controls. Wine cellar cooling systems fall into two types, packaged, and split systems.
Packaged systems are self contained, where all three components are housed together. CellarTec offers three manufacturers,
WhisperKool
,
Koolspace
, and
Aquacool
.
The most common type of wine cellar cooling is a split system. A split system refers to the evaporator and the condenser being “split” apart, with the condenser located out of doors, or in a large open space (like a garage, basement or mechanical room) and the evaporator being located in or near the cellar. A split system offers many size-and-feature options, and has multiple advantages over a packaged unit.
